When Girls Speak Geek

For many years now I have made technology the focus of my career. I get a euphoric high from discovering new platforms for communicating with the masses and new ways to connect women to technology. The introduction of Web 2.0 was a godsend for women and girls in general. Why? Because the major focus is community communication and let’s face it, women and girls are more community oriented. Whether positive or negative, we like to interact with each other in a community. Social networking was pretty much a tech match made in heaven as far as I’m concerned. Why I use Linux and how I got started

I use Linux both at work and at home because I am more productive and so I get a lot more work done in less time. I do not find myself fighting the operating system to do what I need to do or running constant spyware, adware, melware, and virus scans. I do enjoy using it as well and I feel much safer while using it. With Windows I feel I have to be behind more than one firewall; but with Linux I do not feel that way. I also find Linux runs faster than windows, although some distros do run slower than others.   Read the rest of this entry ?
